Networking (human Business Networking)

Some people take very naturally to business networking, others of course find it very difficult. It can be a highly valuable means to finding customers and / or some good advice on things you don't have expertise in.

Be liberal with your lovely, newly printed business cards, make sure as many people as possible get your card and a handshake from you. People still buy from people, most of the time; what I mean by this is that if someone feels a connection with you, either by your personality or by something else, then they are more likely to do business with you. Your nearest Business Link centre will run dozens of events, training days, seminars etc which will all have great opportunity for networking. Many of these events will be Free to go to, and if you're lucky you'll get tea and coffee and possibly a buffet lunch too. So all in all, a great way to make your business known, very cheaply.
